The 2010-2011 Western Academic Talent Search season will kick off late this August. We are happily celebrating the success of another year offering students this national program with both advocacy and recognition opportunities. If you are interested in participation or wonder if your student qualifies, please make sure you are on our mailing list for the fall mailing so that we can get you started in September. Just drop us an email with your mailing address at cbk@centerforbrightkids.org.
Deadlines for all three testing opportunities (EXPLORE, SAT & ACT) will be posted on our Western Academic Talent Search pages. If you are unfamiliar with the Talent Search and your school would be interested in hosting an info night, please contact us as soon as possible. We are happy to share this program with families so that they might make decisions about whether it is a good fit for their kids.
Finally, if you missed out on this year's Summer Programs at the Colorado School of Mines, we are so pleased to announce that they were a tremendous success. The Mines campus has offered an open and welcoming environment full of academic rigor that seems to seep from the sidewalks. Mines students regularly said hello to our students as they walked to and from class or ran into one another at the Student Center. We would love for you to be involved in this experience next summer. Please drop us an email if you are interested in being included in the February mailing of the CBK Summer Programs Catalogue.
You will notice our program titling scheme is centered around concepts of energy. We hope during these tricky times for families both in navigating the many educational options available to you, as well as in finding means to access them, that you might feel revitalized with, as we continue to be, a fresh start. If ever we can help you with this process by you drawing on our resources and energies, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best wishes for an energized fall!
